Fall Time is a Happy Time...Mostly

OHHHH the torment of the Fall Classic. This past week was a little rough. My Texas Rangers lost in one of the greatest series ever played in the history of the game. It was heartache, torture, and down right frustrating. But I still love my team, as is evidenced by this ridiculous picture (side note, this was actually LAST year, but my obsession remains the same of course). While the World Series basically ruled my week, there were other things that made it not as painful. We carved pumpkins while watching Happy Gilmore, I got an "A" on one of my papers for my Studies in the American Novel class, and I just ate about 25 of my homemade chocolate chip cookies. I must say that this time of year makes me feel pretty happy. There is something special about snuggling up on the couch and watching the game, eating some delicious food, and wearing some cute boots and scarfs to school. While it is no secret that living in Utah
is not my favorite, the colors of Fall are rather beautiful. I think it is pretty fun to actually enjoy a real change in the weather and in the trees! But PLEASE, don't take this as my conversion to Utah love....nope, I will ALWAYS and FOREVER be a Texas girl at heart. Well that's about it for now. Until next post...peace out y'all!

And so it begins...

I had a lot of concepts in mind for what I wanted to do for this blog. But just like everything else I do, it changed on a daily basis. So, I figured I'd model this blog after my life, random but awesome. There are, however, a few things that remain mostly the same that should be important to share here. I like lists (aren't they supposed to be more catchy?) so here it goes:

#1. Yes, I am an English major. No, I do NOT love Shakespeare. I pride myself on being an anomaly in my program. I use incorrect grammar, I like to say the word "gooder" in my classes just to see people cringe, and I can't stand it when poetry doesn't rhyme. I mean really, what's the point?! I must admit though that I do love most literature and I love language and the power it has on us as individuals and a society. I love learning new words, especially when I can use them in my daily vocab to make myself sound that much smarter and gooder than the people around me.

#2. I love baseball, and I LOVE me some Texas Rangers baseball. The hotdogs, the fans, the field, and those pants. Need I say more? Plus, who doesn't love the kiss cam? I mean that stuff is classic awesomeness.

#3. As mentioned in my "about me" section, I love my family, friends, and dog. When it comes right down to it, my family are my friends and my friends are my family. I'm lucky enough to have that in my life. As for the dog, his name is Rufus and he is hands down cuter than your dog, so don't even try to compare.

#4. I love to laugh and have a good time. Contrary to the "sour face" label people like to give me, I'm actually a fun person to be around. Trust me. I'm cool. And awesome.

That is all for now. I know everyone is just dying to know all about me and all the great stuff I do all the time, but this post will have to suffice for now. Stay tuned for some more awesomeness in the future.
